CORE INSTRUCTIONS

Caring for Your Vintage Treasures

Every piece at Bloom Vintage has already lived a full life. With a little care, it will go on to live many more. Here's how to keep your antique and vintage finds looking their best for years to come.

Glassware

Hand wash only, using lukewarm water and a mild, unscented dish soap. Avoid sudden temperature changes, as older glass can be sensitive to thermal shock. Dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent water spots and mineral buildup. Never place vintage glassware in the dishwasher or microwave.

Ceramics & Plates

Hand wash gently with a soft sponge and mild soap. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, which can dull glazes and damage hand-painted details. If a piece has visible crazing (fine surface cracks) or gold trim, keep it away from the dishwasher, microwave, and prolonged soaking. Air dry or pat dry with a soft towel.

Brass & Silver

Hand wash gently with a soft sponge and mild soap. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, which can dull glazes and damage hand-painted details. If a piece has visible crazing (fine surface cracks) or gold trim, keep it away from the dishwasher, microwave, and prolonged soaking. Air dry or pat dry with a soft towel.

General Decor

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Keep vintage items out of direct sunlight where possible, as prolonged exposure can fade finishes and weaken delicate materials over time. Store in a cool, dry place away from humidity.

A Note on Imperfections

Minor wear, small chips, or gentle patina are part of what makes vintage pieces special. These are marks of history, not flaws, and each item is inspected and described with care before it reaches you.
